Mellanox Announces 40Gb/s InfiniBand Networking Solutions for High-Performance and Enterprise Data Center Compute Systems

World-Leading I/O Throughput Provides Exceptional Systems Efficiency and Maximum Applications Productivity with New Intel® Xeon® 5500-based Blade Server Platforms

SUNNYVALE, CA. and YOKNEAM, ISRAEL – March 31, 2009 – Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage, today announced that Dell has selected its performance-leading 40Gb/s InfiniBand ConnectX® I/O mezzanine adapter and M3601Q InfiniScale® IV-based blade switches for the Dell™ 11th generation PowerEdge M610 and M710 blade servers and blade switches for the PowerEdge M1000e-series Modular Blade Enclosures. The new Dell blade servers incorporate Intel’s recently announced Xeon® Processor 5500 Series (formerly codenamed “Nehalem”), fueling the need for high-performance InfiniBand networking to deliver new levels of systems productivity. According to Gartner*, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for blade server shipments from 2008 through 2013 is forecast to be 20.8%, and is expected to reach more than 2.5 million units in 2013, representing the highest-growing server form factor during that time.

“Mellanox’s 40Gb/s InfiniBand technology delivers the highest throughput, lowest latency and highest message rate available in networking technology ensuring major productivity benefits for enterprise and scientific computing users,” said John Monson, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “The combination of Mellanox products and Intel-based Dell 11th generation PowerEdge blade servers provides data center IT managers with a unique combination of performance and energy-efficiency resulting in a hardware platform that delivers peak productivity, flexibility, scalability and reliability to optimize TCO.”

“The new Dell 11th generation PowerEdge servers were designed to lead the industry in performance, virtualization and energy efficiency,” said Sally Stevens, director, PowerEdge Platform Marketing, Dell. “Our new Dell PowerEdge servers have achieved up to 50 percent increase in performance over previous generation servers. The high level of I/O bandwidth provided by Mellanox’s 40Gb/s InfiniBand, balanced with the computational power of Dell 11th generation server blade line, will significantly improve application performance, productivity and the overall end-user experience in enterprise and high-performance data centers.”
