Mellanox ConnectX 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapters VMware Ready™ Certified for VMware vSphere™ 4

Now Available from HP, ConnectX EN Provides an Optimized Solution for Data Centers, Cloud Computing and Virtualized Server and Storage Environments

VMWORLD 2009, SAN FRANCISCO, CA – August 31, 2009 – Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage, today announced that its ConnectX® 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters are VMware Ready™ Certified for VMware vSphere™ 4. This achievement extends the value of Mellanox ConnectX adapter products into today’s agile and business process driven data centers by enabling customers to manage key infrastructure components including CPUs, storage and networking as a seamless, flexible and dynamic cloud environment.

The designation means Mellanox’s line of ConnectX EN 10 Gigabit Ethernet converged network adapters have completed the VMware Hardware Certification Program testing criteria for use with VMware vSphere™ 4 and are listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide.

“Virtualization is driving data center efficiency and  enabling new cost-effective  system architectures for the next generation of flexible, reliable IT services,” said John Monson, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Our 10 Gigabit Ethernet high-performance, low-power connectivity products leverage the advanced features of VMware vSphere™ 4 to provide optimal performance, efficiency, and return on investment.”

“As a VMware Ready™ Certified product for VMware vSphere™ 4, the Mellanox 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter has achieved a significant milestone through its active participation in the VMware Community Source Program,” said Shekar Ayyar, vice president of infrastructure alliances, VMware. “Mellanox’s 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters complement the VMware vSphere platform to further enable increased efficiency, control and choice for customers in a converged networking environment.”

Mellanox’s ConnectX EN 10 Gigabit Ethernet solutions provide the required flexibility and efficiency to enable true I/O consolidation for virtualized and enterprise data centers. ConnectX EN provides line rate and very low-latency and supports stateless offload features, virtualization accelerations, Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).

“Customers that use clustering, grid systems and virtualization require technologies that simplify complex data set processing, speeding time to market for scientific and engineering projects,” said Steve Cumings, Director of Product Marketing for Scalable Computing and Infrastructure at HP. “Mellanox 10 Gigabit Ethernet solutions teamed with HP ProLiant servers enable efficient, scalable customer architectures that deliver significant performance improvements at a lower cost per operation.”
