(NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of semiconductor-based, server and storage interconnect products, today announced a multi-vendor 10 Gigabit Ethernet file system and storage infrastructure demonstration using a 10Gb/s Low Latency Ethernet (LLE) cluster network using Lustre™ technology for computational checkpointing and persistent visualization data storage. The demonstration includes the following vendor components: Mellanox - ConnectX EN 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapters, Arista Networks - 7124 10 Gigabit Switches, Sun Microsystems - Lustre file system and Sun Fire™ X4540 storage server, System Fabric Works – software integration and demonstration deployment.

This demonstration also highlights the multi-vendor relationships with LLNL which is exploring the integration of multiple vendors’ network and storage components at high-bandwidths as they will be tested and operated with advanced experimental topologies, routing software and storage server architectures. These topologies and software innovations are intended to allow LLNL to scale its site-wide filesystems for multi-petaFLOP systems with increasing network speeds, adapter capabilities and storage system architectures.
